For Educators

 

June kicks off with Get Natural. A 2 PLU intereactive workshop for Science and Social Studies teachers.  

DATES: June 3 - 5, 9:am - 4:pm

COST: $30, includes lunch daily and supplies

LOCATION: McDuffie Environmental Ed Center & Watson-Brown Foundation

In mid-June we have Teaching with Primary Sources.  This interactive 1 PLU workshop is for social studies, language arts, and science teachers who want to liven up their classrooms by using the amazing primary sources of the past. 

DATES: June 18 & 19, 9am - 4pm

COST: $30, includes lunch daily and lots of digital and print classroom-ready resources

In July we have an interactive adventure in archaeology with Archaeology for Educators! This interactive workshop will teach you how concepts in archaeology can be used to teach science, social studies and math.  And you will get dirty!

DATE: July 23 & 24; 9am - 4pm

COST: $30, includes lunch daily and a large curriculum book

For Kids


Dig History: Archaeology Camp is an awesome summer day camp for kids ages 11 to 17 years old.  They will learn the principles of archaeology and then get to excavate at a real archaeological site alongside our professional team.  Sorry no, dinosaurs allowed.  This camp is for kids who love being outdoors and like getting dirty.   Camper MUST have turned 11 before the first day of camp, no exceptions. 

DATES: June 8 - 12, 9am - 4pm

COST: $60, does NOT include lunch

LOCATION: Hickory Hill

 

Eco-Adventures is another awesome summer day camp for kids ages 11 to 15 years old.  This camp focuses on animals, plants, gardens, and all these Ecological!  Campers will make art from recycled materials, learn about organic gardening, and go for lots of hikes. This camp is for kids who love being outdoors.  Camper MUST have turned 10 before the first day of camp, no exceptions. 

DATES; June 22-26, 9am - 4pm

COST: $60, does NOT include lunch

LOCATION: Hickory Hill

 

New for 2015 is History Tech, a half-day camp for kids 11 to 17 years old that explores the technology of history -- like steam engines, telegraphs, and more.  Campers will build projects and see how their tech holds up against tech of the past! Campers MUST have turned 11 before the first day of camp, no exceptions. 

DATES: July 13 - 17, 9am - noon

COST: $40

LOCATION: Hickory Hill
